Commentary on Romans 5:11-14

Romans 5:11-14

Warning Against Falling Away Romans 5:11-14
"We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil."

Commentary
How many of us have said, "I'm too busy" to take time and effort in God's Word for days, weeks, months and years! How many say, "the Pastor will tell me what I need to know". How many are not taking an active role and responsibility for the maturity that Christ has called us all to grow into. So much like infants we make excuses, kick dirt and procrastinate while at the same time we see our peers growing up in the Word.  Their lives are being changed.  God's Bible promises in Romans 12:2 to transform our minds so that we no longer conform to the ways of the society we live in.  Rather we are to live the life which we were intended for, created to serve with purpose to glorify God. Does our standard apathetic immature irresponsible attitude for our own and our family's spiritual discipline and growth glorify or detract from God?
